Aaron Unknown x Spencer Elmer— Down to Stay

South London artist Aaron Unknown has dropped a new single Down to Stay featuring Spencer Elmer. Coming with a slightly different style, here we see Aaron experimenting with a pleasant melodic beat. Being a fan of Aaron for a moment now, I’m used to hearing him rapping on a faster beat, coming with a slightly more urban sound, so it’s refreshing to hear him experimenting with a slower, more playful sound.

A big reason I rate Aaron so highly, is his ability to express his thoughts on issues in society. Unknown an acronym which stands for Under New Knowledge Now Overcoming World Negativity. His tendency to dig deep and express an impressive acknowledgement and understanding of the ‘negatives’ which surround us in this modern-day society, is I think his biggest strength. This being the focal of his latest project ‘The Journey’ and his SBTV freestyles.

So taking it back to his latest single ‘Down to stay’ It’s refreshing to see him coming with a more playful and positive sound. Teaming up with Spencer Elmer, who brings a Uk boom bap vibe to the song. This is the first time i have come across Spencer Elmer, and has to be said he brings bags of talent and his sound can be compared to the likes of Loyle Carner. From a quick flick through his Spotify, he has a couple singles which follow suit with a focus on spreading a positive message through music. In singles such as 24hrs and Way i feel. in conclusion, this is a great collaboration and you really feel the positivity brought to the table by both artists.
